Do you offer weight loss holidays?
If you are looking to get fit and lose weight then our program is ideal for you. We don’t focus specifically on weight loss – it’s more the result of everything that you do during your time here.
Here at Steve Coster Fitness we do our Bootcamp Holidays differently. Our focus is on high intensity training that is enjoyable, mixed with a healthy eating program that you can easily maintain when you go home. We take some measurements on arrival so you can see your improvements.
What hours do we train? Will I get any free time?
Most of our clients arrive here in sunny Tenerife on either Saturday or Sunday. Whatever day you arrive you will have the weekend to relax. There is a swimming pool at the accommodation or the beach is just a 10 minutes walk away. Training starts Monday morning 07:30. The program runs Monday to Friday with 3 to 5 sessions per day including yoga classes, which will work your full body and calm your mind. If you are looking for a specific variation of workout we can offer you personal training with our professional fitness instructors at an additional cost. Each day you will finish by 13:00 or 14:00 at the latest. This means you have all afternoon as downtime or for the hardcore elite this is when we can provide you with personal training classes or additional yoga sessions. In your downtime you can sunbathe, enjoy some of Tenerife’s spectacular excursions, go shopping or just sleep! More info on local trips, excursions, massages & Spa treatments is available on request. Or if you are a Digital Nomad or an online worker this fitness vacation would be perfect for you as you can train in the morning and work in the afternoon.
Daily Training Schedule
Meet like-minded individuals out in the fresh air on the beautiful beaches of south Tenerife. High Intensity Interval Training which guarantees a full body workout. After a ten-minute warm-up to gently get the body moving, we start our fitness routine using bodyweight exercises. Such as squats, press ups, lunges, mountain climbers and burpees, all of which are designed to push your heart rate up to a fat-burning level. These are group fitness classes which also have the added benefit of creating great camaraderie in a fun, light-hearted environment. This beach class is a great way to kick-start your day with like-minded people. Friday morning is our most popular of all the fitness classes as it’s Navy Seals Training in the ocean.
These are gym based fitness classes, offering a mixture of High Intensity Interval Training and fight based boxing / kick boxing style sessions. Generally the work is done with a partner, you will learn all different types of striking and posture. This is designed to give you better body awareness, and more confidence to deal with an attack situation. This style of training also helps to improve your fitness levels and general wellbeing. You will learn combinations from fighting styles such as different punches and how to use your elbows and knees, you will also learn how to move the pads for your partner giving you better focus and coordination.
Krav Maga is a self defence system, designed and used by the Israeli Military. It is made up of the most effective points of various fighting styles from all around the world. The concept is to teach people how to deal with violent attacks in a variety of circumstances and to do the maximum damage in the minimum time. These classes start with a 15 minute full body warm up given by our expert team of instructors, to create core strength and improved fitness levels. You do not have to be super fit to do this kind of training, but over time it will greatly improve your fitness levels. You will learn to deal with situations such as street attacks, grabs and strangles, various weapon attacks such as knives, bottles and sticks. You will also learn how to put this training into real life situations during sparring sessions and ground fighting scenarios. This training will give you increased confidence to deal with violent situations should they ever arise in your every day life.
Our fitness instructors will design different circuits to work your full body. This is High Intensity Interval Training, using free weights, Kettle Bells, medicine balls, TRX, battle ropes, to give you a superb range of fitness classes. A typical example is 30 seconds on one station done at maximum velocity with a 15 second rest before moving to the next station. This kind of fitness routine has been proven to be extrmeley beneficial not only to your physical health but also to your mental well being. During this class we also do a lot of stomach work such as various types of sit ups to help strengthen the core.
We offer Yoga Sessions on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in the gym. Vanessa our fully qualified yoga instructor will help you stretch off and release the tensions following your fitness classes. This is a great way to relax the mind and body and help give you balance. These two sessions are suitable for people of any ability and with any type of injury and can be adapted to suit every client. This is a gentle form of exercise to allow you to relax and recouperate after all of the High Intensity Interval Training that you will have completed during your fitness classes every day. We offer yoga mats so it is not necessary to bring your own, this is done in a quiet relaxing comfortable environment.
Where will I stay during my fitness holiday abroad?
Private Apartment Accommodation
Having a private apartment allows you the space you need to relax after your fitness classes. You can set your timetable for eating, sleeping, or just chilling out.
It’s great to be part of a group for training and socialising but it’s also important to have some time to yourself to reflect and recharge. Please note the apartment is only booked for the clients on the reservation, it is not permitted to bring guests without prior arrangement as additional fees are due.
Each spacious apartment has a comfortable lounge with flat-screen satellite TV. There is a separate bedroom and a modern kitchen-diner which includes an oven, a kettle, and a microwave. Each apartment also has WIFI and a washing machine. As these are privately owned apartments and not a hotel please note that there is no maid service and you are responsible for keeping the apartment clean and tidy and disposing of any rubbish.
The complex offers an outdoor pool and sun terrace with views of the Atlantic Ocean.
What kind of food will I be eating?
Tasty and Nutritious Meals
It delights us to have teamed up with Chef Elly in Tenerife.
Elly is a very experienced Chef who has experience running a restaurant. She will prepare lunch & dinner and deliver it boxed up to the gym each day so you can eat as and when it suits you.
Our chef will prepare a wide variety of meals such as healthy curries, tasty salads, fish and meat dishes including vegetarian and vegan options. If you have any food allergies or intolerances please let us know in advance and we can cater for any dietary requirements.
Our meals are carefully planned, tasty & nutritious. We provide healthy, tasty meals designed to give maximum results but also fuel your body for intensive training.
Alongside these carefully planned meals, we will also provide you with breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, bread and water. Please note as you are in your own apartment you will be responsible for preparing your own breakfast daily.
When do the courses start?
The courses run Monday to Friday, weekends are your free time. You can choose to arrive on any day and start the following week day.
Do the courses run all year round?
Yes we run courses starting every week of the year. Apart from the two weeks covering Christmas and New Year.
Do you cater for different dietary requirements?
Yes, we are happy to cater to suit individual dietary requirements. Just let us know.
What do I need to bring
Please bring a water bottle, suitable training gear such as trainers, a couple of pairs of shorts, sports bras for the girls, and training tops. We advise bringing a towel as well to take to the gym.
What airport do you pick-up from?
Included in the price of your fitness holiday is collection and drop off at Tenerife South Airport. Please contact me for the price to collect and drop off at Tenerife North Airport.
What food is included?
The food includes 3 healthy meals and fruit for snacks between meals.
